Abstract
This article aims to contribute to the reconstitution of the Portuguese medieval royal confessor. The present work identifies every man that occupied this position between 1385 up to 1481, and based on this initial listing, it analyses how the career of each one of these confessors was built, establishing and justifying existing tendencies between several of the clerics that occupied this privileged position close to the royal family.
