Abstract
This study sets out to provide an analysis of the taxation system applied to the fishing industry and the sale of its products in a particular place and period: the west of Andalusia in the late Middle Ages. The paper describes the conditions under which tax was levied on income from buying and selling fish and gives details of some aspects of the uneven taxation affecting this product, especially in the region’s two great royal boroughs (Seville and Jerez de la Frontera).Downloads
