Abstract

Using Valencia de Alcántara as a case study, this article analyzes the dynamics of municipal social protest and changes in the jurisdictional model which took place in the estates of the Order of Alcántara during the first half of the fourteenth century. We also include the transcription of eleven unpublished documents emitted by the Order to the village of Valencia from 1317 to 1353.
