The Monastic community of Santa María de Nájera during the Middle Ages
Abstract
The inclusion of the monastery of Santa María de Nájera in Cluny involved its internal organization according to the rules of that monastic Order. In this work, different monastic positions during the medieval ages have been analyzed, stressing the most representative events of the period, as well as the importance of the monastic community and its intellectual training; specifically, the geographical origin of the monks has also been studied to the extent possible, considering the notable French presence in the first years and for a long time after that in the post of the prior.Downloads
