Abstract

Progress in the institutionalization of historical studies in Spain during the first third of the twentieth century and novelties introduced with respect to the situation in the second half of the nineteenth century. University reforms, programs of study, the edition of syntheses and books of methodology, the formation of nuclei for research. The organization and development of the Centre for Historical Studies. The continuance of the Academy of History and the promotion of regional historical studies. Contributions of Hispanists from France and from other countries. Mention of the principal historians of the time, their subjects, research methods and explanations for the history of Spain.
