Abstract

For the elaboration of this research, a representative sample has been chosen made up of six of the most significant film production companies in the world of celluloid in our country, thus trying to show the degree of transparency that this important sector currently has, due to the monetary volume that we can presume that it handles and all the public money it receives. Through these data, which will be disaggregated and commented on below, it will be possible to verify the degree of non-compliance they manifest in relation to the corporate transparency that they should have, through compliance with certain requirements required by Law 55/2007, of December 28, 2007, on Cinema, which establishes direct aid for this audiovisual sector. The film production companies evaluated are: Altafilms, Amiguetes Entertainment, Boca Boca, El Deseo, Filmax and LolaFilms. This sample has some differences with respect to the one chosen for the preparation of the III Report on Transparency in the Audiovisual Sector, published in January 2010, where Fox, Columbia Tristar Films, Altafilms, Buenavista and Boca Boca Producciones. The change of several of the agents responds to the need to choose between the main film companies that are dedicated to the production of Spanish films, and not to the distribution of foreign films in Spain.
