The Green Archive. Speeches on Rio + 20 in two Brazilian portals
Abstract
This paper is the result of directed study on the coverage of the Rio + 20 in the main and most
visited Brazilian web portals. Specifically in this paper, we present the results of discursive
analysis of how these portals reported the event, especially on June 23th, 2012, the day that these
portals brought a more diagnostic coverage about the meeting. The discourse analysis, as
theoretical base, allowed us to map, in the textuality of Folha/UOL and Globo/G1 web portals,
prevailing discourses and local silencements, in the play of meaning that surrounded this
important world event, given the diversity of social actors who performed there to discuss the
environment.
