Abstract

As a consequence of innovation and technological changes in the Twenty-first century, there is an intensive use of the information and communication technologies (ICTs), radically changing the social dynamics, communications, mobility, integration and productive activities. The revolution in the ICTs is not only an area of opportunity for societies, governments, educational institutions, industries and businesses, but it is also a concern in many areas of human behavior, ranging from impaired social behavior to addiction in the use of mobile phones and video games or internet overuse. ICTs is one of the main elements that lead firms to competitiveness; representing the company foundations to achieve innovation, and they are an opportunity for using the scientific and technological developments in new products, processes, services, and ways to compete and to market. Tiffin and Ragasingham (1997) pointed out how educational institutions cannot continue functioning in the same way they have been doing it until today, since society is faced with a challenge that involves the transformation of the educational systems, designed to meet the needs of industrialized society in order to input a new form of education according to the parameters current societies establish.
