The border between the freedom of expresssion and the protection of honour, privacy and own,s image in social media. Limits of the freedom of expression in the Internet
Abstract
This work addresses an analysis of the confrontation between the freedom of expression and the protection of honor in the social media The aim of this paper is to balance these rights and set the typical confrontations between both rights, as well as the risks that the social media present for the honor of users. It is necessary to review the Spanish enacted regulation in this area, as well as the self-regulating attempts and the very same regulation attempts by the own social media in their terms of use, and the challenges and issues raised by the social media as far as the protection of honor is concerned.
