La editorial CALPE y el Catálogo general de 1923
Abstract
In 1923 CALPE (1918-1925), publishing house founded by Nicolás María de Urgoiti, published its General Catalogue, after a period of five years activity. In that Catalogue it was gathered and presented to editors, booksellers and readers all the works, directed by prestigious scholars like José Ortega y Gasset, Santiago Ramón y Cajal, Ramón Menéndez Pidal, Manuel García Morente, Esteban Terradas and Juan Dantín Cereceda. The review of this material enables to judge the role played by CALPE in the publishing industry and in the cultural development of Spain in the first third of XX century. A typology of publishing houses catalogues is also offered.Downloads
