Abstract

The purpose of this article is to find the most appropriate procedure for the correct digital document preservation but allowing adequate access to future generations. Following such objective various strategies, advices and prompts for the correct digital document preservation are included. This new context has brought many interpretations and hypothesis that could be resumed in: The change in the paradigm of the information profesional concept. Digitalization is not a recent activity or directly related to the lnformation Technology, but when referring to the Digital Information Preservation it is essential to redefine concepts and tasks at the same time than assuming a new role from the librarians side when managing information. Therefore new questions arise such as: what to preserve?, how to manage digital documents preservation?, how to work with digital documents and what should be learnt by the information specialist about them?
