Abstract

The author reviews the most significant work done on the analysis and evaluation of research inLibrary and Information Science. She proposes to classify this quantitative work according to: the original data employed, the unit of analysis they use as their base, and the specific discipline whose intellectual structure it is their task to understand. An analysis of Authorship Citation is provided. This review deals separately with work on research in Library and Information Science carried out in Spain and abroad.
