Abstract

The Local Newspaper Library of the Madrid City Council is one of the most important of Spain, due to the richness of its documental background which consists of, among others, the collection of newspapers of the Spanish Civil War, besides a big amount of regional and local publications covering all over Spain. This institution is located at the old Cuartel del Conde Duque in Madrid and it is included in the cultural complex formed by the History Library, the Village Archive, the Musical Library and the Craft Printing House, all of them managed by the Madrid City Council.
