Abstract
This study evaluates the retrieval performance of web serch engines nine on library and documentation subjects. We measure the effectiveness with a objective evaluation in terms of the death links, duplicity, unique hits and overlap using four simple quedes aud examining the web pages top fifly for each query and search engine. Tite results obtained show thai Google, Excite and Northem Light had tite highest seore and performed beiter on tite síudied characteristics.Downloads
