Aggregators and news librarianship: A strategic relationship for news visibility and access
Abstract
Introduction to the special issue dedicated to journalistic documentation and new aggregators. A general overview is provided on the importance of aggregators in the media ecosystem, exploring aspects such as content personalization and algorithmic contect curation. Additionally, an overview is given of Google News and Google Discover, the two major news aggregation services most used in Spain. Following that, the research studies included in this special issue are presented. Lastly, some potential reseach directions are suggested for further explore this topic.
