New perspectives in the cataloging of photographic heritage. Reflections on the promotion of a specific model.
Abstract
Technological progress has been fundamental in the evolution of photography, and from the point of view of heritage management it has been forced to adapt to tools designed for the description of other types of resources. With the advent of the so-called Digital Dark Ages, management challenges have intensified, and new approaches to describe these resources in the digital context have emerged, especially related to the web of linked data. This study proposes a reflection on the subject and advocates the need to integrate specific tools that allow the automation and accurate retrieval of this type of collection.
