Image and materiality of the photographs: an approach to its processing in the archives
Abstract
The present work reviews some aspects of the treatment that photographic supports receive in the archival field. In particular, it supports the idea already expressed by some authors that it should be carried out under a broader framework that allows to understand the photograph´s functions and consider some aspects beyond its informative value. Thus, it aims to rethink the photographic object beyond the image and deepen in its conformation as the product of a serie of accumulated cultural processes that are imprinted on its surface.
