Analysis and recovery of Radio Hora: the Twitter with sound of the 70s
Abstract
This paper is an approach to the news program Radio Hora, which aired in Spain from 1972 -when Franco’s regime was in full decline- till 1998, in Radio España (954 Medium Wave). This is a novel way of research even though it was very popular among the population. This work –based on bibliography, sound recordings, but on oral sources above all- starts with the influence of the Cuban Station “Radio Reloj”, which is considered the oldest living news station in the world, in order to analyze the peculiar format of Radio Hora which was based on the minute, with information under 60 seconds and the exact time every minute. Along 26 years on the air, its director, Enrique Dausá, managed to make Radio Hora a leading audience radio program, very profitable publicity-wise.
