Abstract

This paper shows a statistical analysis of the topics covered in the articles on the Development of Social Communication and the History of Journalism published in the Spanish journals of Communication. We analyze the journals included in the rate of diffusion and editorial quality of the Spanish Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences and Law (DICE) currently with digital edition on Internet. We identify the collection of articles on the subject. Then, we do a content analysis of these articles based upon the original descriptors provided by the authors. After standardizing the vocabulary, we arrange the various topics discussed in this corpus of documents, from highest to lowest thematic coverage. One of the conclusions resulting in our study is that the most studied subject is the historical evolution of the printed Journalism.
