Artificial Intelligence and Film Criticism: A Bibliometric Study on the Emotional Dimension in Film Interpretation
Abstract
This article presents a bibliometric study that examines how recent scientific literature addresses the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI), film criticism, and human emotions. Based on the analysis of three academic databases (Scopus, Web of Science, and Dialnet), the study identifies key research trends between 2014 and 2024. Findings reveal a growing academic interest in AI and emotionality within artistic and narrative environments, though with diverse focal points. While Scopus and WoS emphasize technological and visual aspects, Dialnet offers a more ethical and educational perspective. However, there is a notable absence of studies that explore emotional analysis in film criticism through natural language processing (NLP). This gap highlights the need for future interdisciplinary research capable of integrating linguistic and hermeneutic approaches to address subjectivity and emotional depth, particularly as AI-generated texts become increasingly sophisticated.
