Abstract

Social Work in Mental Health has been influenced by the development of psychiatric welfare, the regulatory framework at the nacional and provincial levels and mental health plans which have been implemented over time.
Within this framework, social workers in the field of Mental Health have been constructing a way of doing things that has shaped their professional profile and role, marked by a specificity unique to this environment. The basic tenets of Social Work in Mental Health have been specialization, ongoing training and interdisciplinary work
