Reflexiones sobre la convivencia con mujeres víctimas de violencia de género en un medio residencial
Abstract
The most visible face of gender violence is the position of the woman as a victim. The most shocking fact is the brutality she suffers and the loss of opportunities that it entails. It is out of the question that gender violence is based upon a patriarchal structured social system, however we can’t overlook the influence of factors outside the sociological field. From my experience as a clinical psychologist, I see the interaction between social and personality aspects. If we insist on considering that only external factors matter, we turn women into passive victims helpless in a hostile world they can’t change. On the other hand, if we promote the assumption of their personal participation in the setting of these relationships, we give them hope and we open a way towards learning to defend themselves that leads to independence and to the chance of stablishing non abusive relationships with others.Downloads
