Abstract

Aesthetic is not only concerned with the art and the beauty, although it is usually believed to be so. On the contrary, it covers all that is sensitive, both sensorial knowledge and the emotions caused by the sensations. This paper highlights the importance of sensitivity in the task of social workers. We take into account both the sensations we receive and those we produce on people. From this perspective we approach themes such as the observation capacity, the emotional intelligence, the lifestyle, the ways of working, the resonance, the rapport or the «burn out» professional syndrome. Moreover, the world of sensations is not far from the theoretical world, it is its starting point and testing ground. In fact, one cannot exist without the other and both have a relatable and ethical dimension. In this way, the paper ends criticizing the separation of science, ethics and aesthetic as cultural «spheres».
