Género e identidad profesional en los trabajadores sociales. Gender and profesional identity in social workers
Abstract
The present paper aims to show several reflections on the professional identity of social workers from a gender perspective. These reflections arise from wider research focused on gender and Social Work. In the article a model is proposed in order to integrate gender with the historic development of the professional identity of social workers and to help to understand some of the current problems. Furthermore, the author offers a critical summary of the works related to these issues published in Spain to date. The article concludes with the close relationship between social work and gender, stating that the possibilities for the development of social work as a discipline and profession must include the perspective of gender.Downloads
