Informal support networks as a key resource in social intervention
Abstract
This work shows the importance of interpersonal networks in social intervention. Mainly, it shows the influence they have on people's lives. From this consideration, and using the social network mapping technique, we focus on knowing the characteristics and functioning of family and social support networks, of women attended in primary care social services (both social and health). In this respect, it is observed that these women perceive their networks as personal resources to face situations of need. Thus, it is proposed to strengthen these networks as a complementary resource to social intervention.
