The collaborative networking: challenges and opportunities
Abstract
Networking is currently one of the key tools of social intervention. However, there are difficulties in terms of its implementation and development that affect both professionals and users. This article reflects on the circumstances in which it occurs, reviews its main challenges and finally proposes some suggestions and ideas in order to promote a form of networking that is closer to a space offering continuous and collective learning than to one dominated by blame, unease and self-defence. The ultimate aim is to contribute to developing networking based on collaborative principles, involving agencies, professionals, disciplines and users, and featuring the reflective professional as an essential element of this process. A network is conceived here as a symbolic safety net offering support, assistance and understanding in relation to the daily activities of psychosocial work.
