Retrieving the economy: between socialissues and social intervention

Abstract

We propose a set of questions around the intervention of Social Work. Most of these problems arise from reflections of social policies in Argentina and Latin America, but the conceptual aspects are relevant for countries whose social policies are giving way to more comprehensive interventions or any society where professionals of social intervention feel called to rethink their practices from a socioeconomic perspective.

We propose as a framework, the social question as a process of social construction open, then wonder about the sense that take and can collect social policies when traversing local experiences of self-managed work and associate of the popular sectors.

Social workers who are inserted daily in «the territory» have different intervention tools to change reality. But it is the sense that guides them who deserves be transformed. In this search we propose to put back into the center allegedly split dimensions of «the social» as the economy and politics, not so disinterested, but from the political perspective of moving towards a more democratic and just society in the production and distribution of wealth.
