Abstract

The present investigation analyzes the figure of the judicial torment in the Indian criminal procedure, starting off from the criminal documentation in Teposcolula’s Judicial Archive. The hypothesis is formulated in the following terms: did the practice of the Indian first instance courts observe the Castilian legislation on the judicial torment?
