The dissolution of the Royal Audience of Santa Fe, 1819-1820. Aspects of the juridical-institutional transition at the beginning of the Republic in Colombia.
Abstract
This article focuses on the dissolution of the Royal Audience of Santa Fe, heart of the judicial apparatus of the former Viceroyalty of the New Granada. Historiography has focused more on the political and social transformations of old Colombia, rather than on the collapse of Spanish institutions and their members during the transition process. This article aims to partly cover that gap.
