Catalogue of criminal proceedings of the Corregimiento of Úbeda (1582-1842)
Abstract
The judicial fund of the Municipal Historical Archive of Úbeda preserves a total of 400 criminal trials from the three modern centuries and the beginning of the 19th century, which represents a small part of the total of cases that must have passed through the hands of the magistrate of the city or its mayor. The crime of slander, which represent 38.75% of the total conserved, being already studied in a previous work, it is time now to review the rest of the trials, among which the causes of homicide (48) or theft / robbery (72). A summary of each case is presented in a footnote.
