The Fiscal Allegations of the Court of the Spanish Inquisition in Majorca
Abstract
This paper tries to establish a classification of the Fiscal Allegations of the Court of the Spanish Inquisition in Majorca, that remain in the subset of files of the Collection of the Council of the Inquisition of the Archivo Histórico Nacional of Madrid. The study of the Fiscal Allegations gives an idea of the activity of the Court of the Inquisition in Mallorca during the 18th and 19th Centuries (the least studied period of the history of the Court in the island). Some common features with other fiscal allegations from the rest of the Courts of the Inquisition during the same period are underscored and some particular cases of Majorca are examined (mainly concerning Lullism and xuetes).Downloads
