Abstract

This type of employment was secure, stable and came along with entitlements. In order to further clarify this, we devoted a few paragraphs to tracing out a theor y of the notion of social cohesion. As of the 1980s, this type of employment became affected by a severe crisis. We have questioned if and to what extent this crisis has introduced a dynamic of social fracture into our societies, and we have examined what avenues these developments may be taking.
