Mecanismos y procesos de segregación ocupacional de la mujer: las pruebas de selección al cuerpo de Policia Municipal
Abstract
This essay shows the result of a study in Local Policing and training academies of several towns of the autonomous region of Madrid (Spain). By the testimony of policewomen and female candidates to be police, and the monitoring and analysis of the selective process and recruitment, this research aims for identifying factors that have an effect on the low participation and recruitment of women in this Force. Although policies have managed to implant the equity principle in opportunities and conditions at work, there are still factors that keep a pattern of occupational segregation for the selection and recruitment processes. By this reason the “male” image of the domain is perpetuated.Downloads
