An analysis of the effectiveness of training contracts in Spain

Keywords: training, retraining, employment gap, recruitment, active policies

Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyse the actions which, in an anticipatory and preventive manner, seek to maintain and improve the employability of workers, paying special attention to the organisation of training actions for the younger population.

Among other issues, it will deal with temporary hiring through training contracts, both training and apprenticeship contracts and alternating training contracts, as well as internship and professional practice contracts, in order to carry out an analysis of the training activity of companies. The analysis indicates some limitations that have had this type of contracts, which hopefully will be corrected with the latest labor reform of 2021.
