Abstract

A review of the Late Final Bronze I hoard of Lanzahíta (Ávila) is addressed. Lead isotope analyzes reveal that the weapons that make it up are Iberian products, while at the same time shows the intensity of the Atlanticism of the Peninsula at an early date. Furthermore, the mutilations recorded on the pieces are attributed not to their condition as scrap metal but to a conscious sacrifice for ritual purposes. Finally, the role of weapons hoards as an expression of territoriality is discussed.
