La ficción como novella: Boccaccio en la Vida del escudero Marcos de Obregón
Abstract
The parallels existing between Vicente Espinel’s novel and the Decameron were drawn and analysed quite early. However, apart from revising those parallels, it would be necessary to approach this question from new perspectives that leave aside plot “echoes and resonances”, and examine instead the narrative strategies and technique of the novella. In the light of this, attention should be paid to the use of a geographical setting and the presence of historically documented characters as narrative instruments, exploring at the same time the devices associated to the senses as driving forces behind the action (smell, disgust), or as prompters of feelings (fear and laughter).Downloads
