Abstract

In his Knights, Aristophanes shows a paradigmatic model of comic or tragicomic anagnorisis. Actually, Paphlagon-Cleon recognizes clearly the fi gure of the Sausage-Seller, who will have to replace Paphlagon in the leadership of Athens. This paper presents some notes about the sense and the form of the appropriate text with a particular attention to the homosexual obscenity. This kind of obscenity structures this comedy and probably appears in our passage in a explicit and implicit way.
