Audiovisual tour of the CAMPSA Guide: evolutionary analysis of a historical publication (1988-1995)
Abstract
Throughout this article, an audiovisual tour is made of the Campsa Guide advertisements between the years 1988 and 1995. We will begin this tour by establishing the context in which the Campsa company and the hydrocarbon sector in Spain were founded until the year 1993 when this Compañía Arrendataria del Monopolio de Petróleos (Campsa) came to an end. It continues with the advertising object itself, a travel guide, and ends with all the advertising campaigns starring Camilo José Cela, an illustrious character with an outstanding character, who will be one of the representatives of the term «afterpop», a term that will also be analyzed.
