The disco of the Department of music of the University of Chile gave auditions service to the community of the Faculty of Arts, students of middle schools and public in general, since its gestation and entry into operation in 1964 until the first years of the 2001 approximately. The year 2001 Luis Merino, passes the administration of this service to the address of libraries of the faculty, thinking of creating a system of consultation broader and more unified with the central services of the University. However, this change generated a double dependency between the library service and the music Department, which materialized in a conflict that ended gradually with all the activities of extension, first, and then with the progressive disruption of the service until its total closure. The Music Department, recognizing the serious anomalies detected, asked the Dean this disco service returned to its jurisdiction to, thus correcting the mistakes of the past and take legitimate autonomy. At the same time, it began within the Department to create a critical mass of professionals linked to the audio, music, restoration, conservation and the audiovisual archival, which over time have become a pole of academic development for the program of Bachelor of Arts majoring in sound and a reference of activity at the national level.Downloads
