Abstract

This article analyses the roles of ‘Ibn‘Idārī in Arabic historiography and his importance as a source for the history of al-Andalus. The paper is also a systematic study of the dispersed edition and translation of his work Bayān al-mugrib, and the different sources he used to write it.
