The Book of Agriculture supposed of Ibn Wāfid / al-Nahrāwī: new remarks on its authorship
Abstract
During the Middle Ages, a blooming in agricultural knowledge take place. As a result, a number of treatises on agriculture were impressed. Some of these books are of unknown author, in particular, a compilation of agricultural recipes from grecobyzantines books, with few original contributions. In this paper this treatise is studied, specially its links with previous references and its following traces. A discussion on its possible authors is included as well. Although there are still some doubts about it, the name of an author can be defend: Albumaharan Abencenif, the andalusí agricultural scholar quoted by Herrera in his book.Downloads
