A New Testament quotation and the question of restitutio textorum in the Calendar of Córdoba
Abstract
The fragmentary quotation from Acts 9:4-5 and the text in which it is included –collected in one of the Latin versions of the Calendar of Córdoba– is significant to reconsider the question of the restitution of texts in those cases in which the Arabic version (first edited by Dozy and later reedited with additions by Pellat) exhibits omissions. The issue becomes relevant with the identification and edition of new Arabic manuscripts, which show a complex transmission of the text, but not only in Arabic, but also in the Latin versions.
