If she is a woman, she will be Christian. Religious affiliation in some mixed marriages in Islamic societies
Abstract
This article reviews some reports indicating that in some Islamic societies and in cases of mixed marriages (Muslim father and non-Muslim mother) daughters born of such marriages were allowed to follow the mother's religion. This was despite the fact that Islamic law stipulated that all children were Muslim. These reports suggest that some of the women who participated in the movement of the Cordovan 'voluntary martyrs' may have come from a similar background.
