The role of Child protection’s establishments and the minors at risk and social exclusion in Morocco. The Ahli Center (Fez) case
Abstract
This article check out the performance and results of the social protection establishments dedicated to the childhood and specifically to the minors at risk and social exclusion who live in the streets (so-called “street children”). This work is based on a field study conducted in Fez and it focus-es on one of the two establishments that are situated in the city, the Markaz Ahlī / Center Ahli, and on its sociocultural and economical context in relation with the familiar mutations. It deals with its objectives, organizations, work methods and beneficiaries. The conclusions show up a considerable legal organization who work for the child protections in Morocco, but a miss about the effective application, the necessity of family help and the intervention at the time when the minor is not a “street child” yet.Downloads
