Litigation between the alfaqui Bernardino de Segura and the Great Captain because of the Busquistar habus (1500-1511)
Abstract
In this article, we know the lawsuit of the alfaqui Bernardino Segura against the Great Captain by the Waqfs (Habus) of the mosque of Busquístar. The Kings gave these goods to the alfaqui, when Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba (Geat Captain) obtained the Manor of tahá de Orgiva, he took them. Numerous witnesses went to the lawsuit. Finally Justice gave reason to the alfaqui and the Great Captain had to give back the assets and incomes from nine years since 1502-1511. The alfaqui granted part of this money to Lorenzo Abencaçan who lent him some quantities and accompanied him to the Court to take a detachment of the Royal grant that had been lost.Downloads
