From the well to the cadi. Management and conflicts of the water supply in Cordoba (8th-13th centuries)
Abstract
From the textual and archaeological data, is asked here the question of the water supply of Cordoba in the Islamic time, in particular that of the actors at the origin of the network of well and fountains which supplied the city. The water supply of Cordoba was based on a balance between initiatives of the private individuals, which assured themselves the supply of their house and managed the hydraulic structures of their district, and interventions of the political authorities, which worried first of all about the water supply of their palaces, then the general interest, by supplying the great mosque and by fitting out some fountains.Downloads
