Legal Reforms in Algeria after the "Arab spring": the new "Law of Association of 2012"
Abstract
This article studies the evolution of the Law of Associations in Algeria from the Independence up to our days. It studies mainly the 2012 Law of Associations, which is the result of the political actions put into practice by the Algerian regime to control over the wave of social protests related to the ‘Arab Spring’. It reaches the conclusion that this current Law is a more developed and complex set of rules than the former 1990 legislation. Nevertheless, new and more strict and elaborated mechanisms of control have been added to the new Law.Downloads
