The “Fall of Palmyra” or the “History of Zenobia and Gadimah” told by the North-Arabian tradition
Abstract
Our aim in the present paper is to analyze the compositive and content features of al-Masi' di' s versión of the fall of Zenobia and her kingdom of Palmyra as a reflection of a tradition which, in our opinión, circulated in North-Arabian circles. At the same time, this analysis is complemented with a comparison with al-Tabari’s version, which gathers a versión slightly different from al-Masu' udi’s Murug al-dahab.Downloads
