Voix signifiantes : le cas du rap français
Abstract
In this article, we present voice as a analytical category, both linguistic and musical, performative and symbolic. As a metonym of the subject-interpreter-author and of the song itself, voice is a crucial parameter for understanding and interpreting contemporary popular music. French hip hop music, as part of the spectrum of the contemporary chanson française, is an outstanding example of the importance of voice in creating such a singular musical genre with specific aesthetics features.Downloads
