Translating Annie Ernaux
Abstract
This article aims to provide an overview of the translation work that the author has carried out on Ernaux’s work up to the present day. It alternates the exposition of her experience as the author of the translation of more than thirteen books by the Nobel Prize winner, exemplifying it, with a reflection on the 'unique' writing of Annie Ernaux (and consequently on the difficulty of translating it into another language) as well as on the work of the translator: its essence, its relevance, its specificity as the "best reader" of each versioned work.
